Tuna Başıbek was born in İstanbul in 1988. After graduating from İstanbul Bilgi University International Relations and History departments as a double major student, he earned MA degree from Boğaziçi University Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History. He is currently a PhD student in the same Institute. His research interests focuses on Late Ottoman social and economic history, legal history and social movements..
