Hilal Unal received her B.A. in Western Languages from Bosphorus University, and her M.A. in Cultural Studies from Istanbul Bilgi University. She is currently a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the University of British Colombia. Her areas of interest include violence, memory and trauma, political anthropology and oral history.
