Irini SARIOĞLU (Ph.D, Birmingham University) was born in Istanbul. She is Ass. Professor of History at the Department of Modern Greek Studies, Istanbul University and a founding member of the Hellenic History Foundation in Athens. She is the author and/or editor of several books such as Fifty Years Since the Anti-Greek riots of 1955, Turkish Policy Towards Greek Education in Istanbul, Castellorizo - an island in time by Nicholas Vogiatzis and Nicholas Pappas, The Ten-Day Diary by Agapi Moliviati-Venezis, and others. Since 2008 she is the General Secretary of the Hellenic History Foundation (IDISME).
