Merve Tosun was born in Istanbul. She graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature of Istanbul University in 2009. Later, she graduated from Istanbul University Italian Language and Literature Department in 2019. In the same year, she graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University Cultural Studies MA program with the thesis entitled “Count Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli and His Essay on Turkish Coffee: Coffee, Coffeehouses and Cultural Life in the Late 17th Century Ottoman Istanbul.”
She is an currently an interpreter who is also involved in NGOs and volunteer work. She has translated six books as well as many other texts, continues to work as a freelance interpreter/translator.
